The History of Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church
About
To tell the story of how Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church was organized, we need to start at the beginning. The church was established on June 16, 1889 in a small country log house. In it's first location along the bank of a creek called Holly Creek in West Howard County, Arkansas. From inside the house you could hear the strains of several old familiar hymns. Occasionally the droning voices of men and women could be heard offering prayers, intermixed with amens of the elders and deacons. Soon the singing would stop and for the next hour it could be heard of a rousing voice of the preacher proclaiming the purpose of the meeting. At table in the corner of the room sat a bewhiskered man busily writing in a small ledger. As the ink flows from his pen, the words take shape.
"Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church - Third Sunday in June, 1889 - Organized with the following members J.I. Bryant and sister E. Bryant and Parthena Stinson, with the assistance of presbytery composted of Elders T.H. Westbrook and T.I. Lumpkin, with deacons I.H. Rivers, as clerk and P.R. Littlefield, moderator".
It's current location is now in it's third setting.

Our Mission
Our purpose is to proclaim the Gospel of Christ our Lord Jesus in the community and all the world as it is said in
Matthew 28:18-20
"18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
We strive to accomplish the Great
Commission of our Lord
