Who is Jesus?
Although this question is a general one, to fully understand the answer, several pieces of the narrative of the Bible must come together to see the larger and clearer picture of this matter.
Jesus is the Christ. This title of Jesus signifies that He is the Messiah (Old Testament
equivalent title), the true Savior of humanity from their sins for any and all who would
believe and confess to this truth. (John 3:16, Romans 10:9-13).
Jesus is fully God, and fully man. This complex concept has confused many about
Jesus, His nature, and His purpose. He is Devine as He is the Second person of the Holy
Trinity, no less God, but yet the incarnation of the fullness of God in human form
(Colossians 2:19). Likewise, He experience and lived life in this world just as any other
human being ever has yet was without sin because He is God in the flesh (Hebrews 4:15).
Jesus is the only way to Heaven. The world has the idea that there are many paths that
lead to everlasting life, but truthfully there can be only one way. The Old Testament
declares that faith is what saves, and Jesus confirms that it is through faith in Him (John
14:6).
Jesus is the fulfillment of prophesy. The Old Testament is filled with Messianic
prophecies (foretelling of the Jesus’ coming, 300+ notations), beginning with Genesis
3:15 through Malachi 4:6 to which have been fulfilled in the singular person of Jesus the
Christ. The statistical probably of this is so small that it can only be attributed and
credited to the Lord Himself orchestrating it to be so.
Jesus is the only acceptable sacrifice. Because man has sinned, he owes a debt to be
paid (Romans 6:23a), but because of the cost of what it takes to redeem man only the
Lord Himself could pay it, that we might live (Romans 6:23b). The sacrificial act of Jesus
saves completely, because He alone is the all-sufficient Savior (Romans 3:24-25).
Jesus is not dead but is alive. Jesus was put to death upon the Cross (Luke 23:46), and
He was buried in a borrowed tomb (Luke 23:53), yet upon the breaking of day on the
third day, He was resurrected (Matthew 28:6). He later appeared before many witnesses
(1 Corinthians 15:4-6) and then ascended into glory (Acts 1:9), where He sits making
intercession for us (Romans 8:34).
Jesus saves, and Jesus changes us. The truth is we are complete changed when we
profess Christ, turn away from our sins, and believe in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17). This
changes everything about us, including our relationship with the Lord God all because of
Jesus (Romans 8:1).
JESUS LOVES YOU!
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16
